Diego Garfias GallegosI am interested in holobiont ecology and evolution. The questions that make me dream and long for more knowledge are how the microbiome provides the macrobe with metabolic functions that increase the fitness of the holobiont as a whole. I also question how biotic and abiotic factors affect this relationship and the marks that this leaves in the genomic material of the holobiont members. I found in lichens an excellent system to tackle these questions. I love art in its various representations. Moreover, I enjoy hearing (sometimes playing) Debussy, and I read with fascination how people put their souls in fantasy and science-fiction.
